The following was presented at the May 2016 luncheon and we are asking for your assistance with this issue.
President Obama never ceases to amaze us with his overreach of authority and unconstitutional acts. His latest school bathroom policy directive is both misguided and blatant blackmail. He is linking adherence to ‘his’ policy to federal money for schools. He has no authority to tie a policy directive to Title 1 Federal money, but he is trying. Only by standing up to this executive bullying and blackmail will we shut it down in it’s tracks.
Other states have stepped up to the plate and denounced this action and have called on their schools to comply with state law rather than be blackmailed into submission. We are looking for our elected officials to step up on behalf of the schools and students in Michigan.
If you have not already done so, please call Governor Snyder’s office at 517-335-7858.
1. Ask where the governor stands on the President’s Unconstitutional executive order regarding transgender use of bathrooms in our public schools.
2. After the staffer answers your question, let them know where you stand.
Here is an interesting article written by a former transgender which begs the question why is this even an issue and what is the real motive?
Thank you for your concern and involvement in issues that affect each of us and generations to come!
What can you do to help?
Call Gov. Rick Snyder at 517-373-3400 to thank him for putting RR program on hold and urge him to follow lead of other governors in resisting RR by defunding the program or sending the refugees to other states, as was done by Gov. Mike Pence of Indiana.
Also ask the Governor how many refugees the state had already accepted for placement and are already in the pipeline and what is their status now. If the databases for vetting don’t exist now, they didn’t exist when these refugees were “cleared.”
Also inquire of the Governor the FULL, annual costs of supporting the refugees and how the state can continue to bankroll such expansive welfare for refugees.
Call Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson at 248-858-0480 to thank him for raising questions and concerns about a new development of 120 homes in Pontiac for Syrian refugees. Also ask his office to investigate how the lots were procured for only $250 each.
Call Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan at 313-224-3400 to urge him to also suspend, at least temporarily, participation in Refugee Resettlement due to security and economic concerns.
Given that Detroit is: The nation’s poorest big city, the nation’s most violent big city, and the nation’s (nearly insolvent) poorest performing public school district, ask how the City can support hundreds, if not thousands, of unvettable refugees from failed states, many of them without advanced education or illiterate and many who do not speak English, with all the expansive public assistance they will require WITHOUT diverting scarce resources away from struggling Detroiters.

Please tell the Congressional aide/staffer to relay to the Rep. or Senator your concerns about the unvettability of the refugees (as testified to by FBI Director James Comey and other senior officials) and the dangers this presents to our country. Tell them to support legislation immediately suspending refugee resettlement and defunding Refugee Resettlement.
Tell them to support the plan being advanced by Sens. Richard Shelby and Jeff Sessions to include a provision in any omnibus spending bill that makes it absolutely clear that no refugee resettlement will take place without a separate, affirmative Congressional vote to authorize any resettlement and offset its huge costs.
Call House Speaker Paul Ryan at 202-225-0600 urging him to do same to cut all funding to refugee resettlement.
Call Congressman Hal Rogers, chair, Appropriations Committee at 202-225-2771 to push the defunding of Refugee Resettlement.

What have we learned in 2,064 years?
"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance." —Cicero, 55 BC
