Ron Edwards - 28 Steps to Saving America
If you were unable to attend our luncheon May 19th, you missed speaker Ron Edwards who shared his thoughts on the breakdown of America's foundation. The foundation is being chipped away via policies such as 'diversity'; indoctrination within public education; take over of civil rights for other purposes; decay of our moral fiber as the faith community cedes their role to government; and so much more. However, all is not lost, we can rebuild and fortify our foundation. Here is a link to Ron Edwards 28 Steps to Saving America.
You may not be the victim but sadly, someone you know is. Are you prepared to help and guide them? Haven's presentation included recognition of the problem, available resources, and shared with us how to advocate for victims. "Our Message Matters" - Saturday, Jan 23, 2016
We had an informative an entertaining morning learning about how we can more effectively share the Republican message.

Linda Lee Tarver is a businesswoman and president of Tarver consulting; has been involved in local and state party politics for many years; holds a master's degree in industrial/organizational psychology; and is President of the Republican Women's Federation of MI.
Andrew Wolfe is a successful entrepreneur on a mission to motivate, educate, and provide tools for success; instinctively connects the dots and calmly shares those connections with a belief that effective communication and collaboration are key to any team's victory.
At our annual membership meeting we held a very successful silent auction. Proceeds went to the Speakers Fund. We also held our general election for the 2016 club officers.
Dick Manasseri (Regugee Resettlement Monitor of MI) presented riveting findings on the Refugee Resettlement Act. This fast-track program comes to us with a huge price tag, poses a threat to our national security and has the potential to destroy our Constitutional freedoms.
Refugee Resettlement is a serious concern for American's at this point in time especially with the growth of radical islam. ISIS has stated they are using the refugee program as one means to enter the U.S.
This is a serious issue and it's coming to your town/city. In some cases without your township/city even aware it is happening and sometimes with their ill-informed blessings.
So please, watch and share this video and their website. Talk to your friends and neighbors.
We must protect America; France is wishing they had.
KrisAnne Hall’s moving presentation revealed that the wives of our founding fathers were every bit as important to the battle for America’s freedom. They were not subservient wives of overbearing husbands as those who rewrite history would have us believe. The founding women of our nation carried themselves with dignity and strength, believing the value of liberty was worthy of their families’ sacrifices. These were women of principle, courage and great resolve, willing to sacrifice so that their children could be free. This presentation gave the true history of these remarkable women.

Former CIA Operations officer Member of Citizens Commission on Benghazi Managed Counter-Jihad programs at the Center for Security Policy Expertise on Iran, Counterintelligence and Terrorism Co-author/editor of the study: "Sharia, the Threat to America"
Ms Lopez said that foreign policy has flipped in the last six years. The U.S. has broken traditional alliances, the forces of jihad have been empowered, and there is an ideology that blames the West. The Obama administration has reversed Islamic decline. She believes the policy is to withdraw American power and influence and encourage the Muslim Brotherhood, which has infiltrated our government over the last few decades.
Ms. Lopez discussed a book—"The Future of Terrorism, What al-Qaida Really Wants" by journalist Fouad Hussein —which lists the seven phases thru which the terror network hopes to establish an Islamic caliphate.
2000-2003—The Awakening: Provoke the US into declaring war on the Islamic world, thereby "awakening" Muslims
2003-2006—Opening Eyes: The organization develops into a movement
2007-2010—Arising & Standing Up: A focus on Syria
2010-2013: Collapse of hated Arabic governments
2013-2016: Declaration of Caliphate
2016 Onwards: Total confrontation
2020: Definitive victory

Jonathan Bronitsky—Political Strategist and Historian
Dr. Bronitsky received a doctorate in history from the University of Cambridge, England. Last century's conservative intellectual movement was the topic of his dissertation.
The subject of his talk was the lack of conservative leaning faculty members in the U.S. He cited a 2007 study of over 1,000 full-time faculty members that found 44.1% considered themselves liberal, 46.1% moderate, and 9.2% conservative. The highest percentage of self-described conservatives was in community colleges at 19%. In addition, when broken down by age, younger faculty members were less conservative than their older colleagues. A 2012 survey of Ivy League Faculty/Staff found that 96% had contributed to Obama's campaign.
Some suggestions on "what can we do" were: send our children to conservative colleges, support conservative think tanks, build an on-line university, support initiatives to spread conservative ideas on campus, encourage conservative students to become academics.

Women in American History - Sat, March 1, 2014
A wonderful day spend learning about some amazing women. Special thanks to our guest speakers:
Diane M. Schrift, the 1st Vice Regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) of Michigan
Linda Lee Tarver, the Ethnic Vice Chair of the Michigan Republican Party
Kyle McGrath, teacher of history and government at Milford High School
Judge Michael Warren, of the Oakland County Circuit Court
Carol Ann Fausone, Michigan’s first female Brigadier General
This video features Kyle McGrath who spoke at our "Women in American History" event on Saturday, March 1, 2014.
Kyle says: "The details/background of this speech are that about a couple months ago I was asked by the Bloomfield Republican Women's Club to be a presenter at their annual 'Women in American History' event. It was on March 1st, 2014, Saturday morning, and was attended by about 40 to 50 women who wanted to learn more about American history and how it related to feminism.
"I was given the 'early 1900' slot, and decided to focus my speech on Alice Paul and the National Women's Party. In my research, I found an early strand of 'conservative' feminism that seems to had been forgotten about by most feminists, so I focused my speech on that. It seemed to get a good reception. It is academic but hopefully interesting too!"
Kyle McGrath is a teacher of history and government at Milford High School.

Dinner & Guest Speaker - Thursday, May 23, 2013
At our dinner Thursday, May 23, 2013, Mark Tapson spoke on Hollywood's portrayal of Islam and terrorism.
A Shillman Journalism Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center, critic and screenwriter Mark Tapson writes about culture and politics for Acculturated, FrontPage Magazine, PJ Media, Big Hollywood, and elsewhere. Mark has worked with such renowned terrorism experts as Brigitte Gabriel and Steven Emerson, for whom he co-wrote the award-winning documentary Jihad in America: The Grand Deception.
In Hollywood, Mark has worked for filmmakers such as Joel Surnow (creator of 24), Steve McEveety (Passion of the Christ), and writer/director Cyrus Nowrasteh (The Stoning of Soraya M.), whom he assisted on the controversial miniseries The Path to 9/11, among other projects. He is currently writing a film adaptation of Caspar Weinberger’s and Peter Schweizer’s book The Next War.
Mark discussed how Hollywood is a propaganda machine that is using political correctness to protect Islam and is putting Americans in morally equivalent positions as Muslim fundamentalists. In many of our current movies, Muslims are shown as sympathetic characters who are defending themselves against the meddling Americans. They portray our soldiers as weak or morally bankrupt. A couple of movies Mark mentioned were The Sum of All Fears (the Islamic terrorists in the book were changed to Neo-Nazis in the movie) and Kingdom of Heaven (the crusaders were portrayed as violent hypocrites while the Muslims were portrayed as peaceful and morally superior).
Not only are movie themes attacking America’s image, but Hollywood executives are now partnering with Islamic nations to create their own movies. This will lead to more productions that foster an attitude of disrespect toward America. Mark also pointed out that movies which try to show a strong American sentiment or patriotism are being blocked from production or edited.
How do we combat this trend?
Mark reminded that Hollywood is a barometer of our morals and values. Our politics flow from our cultural sensitivities, so we start by changing the culture. We need to be aware of what current movies and television are portraying. Instead of turning our back on pop culture and social media, we need to be involved in reprogramming the upcoming generations. If we are ignorant of what is out there, we are powerless to make effective change.
We can support conservative film makers by viewing and promoting their work. There is a growing population of conservatives in Hollywood who are working to instill traditional American values back into current movies. Mark mentioned several films which represent strong Americans facing a clear enemy:
Dark Knight Rises
Zero Dark Thirty
Act of Valor
Related Action Item:
If you haven’t seen it, rent or buy the award-winning 2010 DVD The Stoning of Soraya M. It is based on the true story of an Iranian woman falsely accused of adultery. It’s less than $8 on Amazon. You watch it individually, form small viewing groups, or have one big screening. The film was banned by the Iranian regime, temporarily drew worldwide attention to the Islamic practice of stoning, and was an underground favorite among the Iranian revolutionaries.
It’s a more important action item than it may seem. It’s simple but inspirational, because this exceptional and powerful film will show you what great work our side can do, and is trying to do, in Hollywood, and the positive impact that proud American filmmakers can have if we begin pushing back against Hollywood anti-Americanism and submission to Islam. It will inspire you to take further steps to reclaim our culture.
At our luncheon on April 23, 2013, Tim Bos, one of the co-founders of MI Freedom to Work Coalition, gave a history of the movement and the importance of protecting the law. Our club library should have the dvd next month. It will also air on Bloomfield cable in about a week. Union bosses are going to fight this law with everything they have. The lawsuits have already started, as has the propaganda stream*. Next year it is expected they will have a referendum on the ballot. It is anticipated that the institutional left will spend about $300,000,000 to repeal this law, completely ignoring the freedom it provides workers and free market principals. This law, coupled with the tax changes the legislature has made, will have an incredible impact on our economy over the next few years. Many states are looking at what happens in Michigan; they know if we can keep it here then it can happen anywhere! If it’s overturned in MI, it will be decades before it is ever tried again. *the MEA has already told their members this is priority #1. The communication since then proves it. How sad, and all this time they told us it was about the kids.
This is a long term action item. We MUST protect the new Right to Work bill. This bill not only brings freedom to choose a union to Michigan, it also will bring business to Michigan!
See today’s handout and keep informed through the resources below.
